The current implementation is the result of a cooperative venture between Testing Technologies and Tektronix in the field of TTCN-3-based test solutions. The project intends to give Tektronix customers an efficient means to develop their own TTCN-3-based test solutions using the Tektronix K1297-G20 Protocol Tester.
Testing Technologies acquired René Drescher as chief sales and marketing. For more than 7 years now, René Drescher is working in the computer and communications area. After his studies of industrial engineering he started work in the routing area. Then he worked for a technology leading software company SCOPELAND Software which revolutionized database related applications. Before he joined Testing Technologies he was responsible for Sales and Marketing Europe at Infineon Technologies Fiber related Communications group. "My vision is to bring existing TTCN-3 standard into customers network development process. Testing Technologies standard software will enable customers to standardize test platforms in order to be long term satisfied in Quality, Flexibility and ROI issues."
The TTCN-3 Control Interface (TCI) has been adopted as part 6 of the TTCN-3 standard series. The TCI will be published as ES 201 873-6 in August 2003. Testing Technologies is main contributor to TCI and supports it in their TT tool series. The TCI specification can be downloaded from the ETSI TTCN-3 download page.

The TTCN-3 Runtime Interface (TRI) and the TTCN-3 Control Interface (TCI) became integral part of the TTCN-3 standard series as part 5 and part 6. While TRI has been adopted already as ES 201 873-5, TCI is scheduled for approval in March 2003. Testing Technologies is main contributor to TRI and TCI and supports them in their TT tool series. ETSI MTS has set up a new working group in the area of IP testing (MTS-IPT). Testing Technologies supports this idea of specification based testing of IP based protocols and will supports ETSI's work in area of SIGTRAN protocols. Planned start date is February 2003 and Testing Technologies will again be one of the first industry player that pushes forward TTCN-3 solutions.
