First TTCN-3 Test Tools on the Market
Berlin/Hannover, March 2001 – Testing Technologies IST
GmbH presents at CeBIT 2001 the first commercially available
TTCN-3 products for systematictests of distributed systems
to the technical public. For the first time, the internationally
standardised test method TTCN-3 can be used in a broad industrial
environment: with the products TTspec, TTthree and TTtwo2three
-each as first release v1.0. Companies that act in Internet
or the new mobile markets, now have the opportunity to test
their infrastructures,technologies and services intensively
and completely already before their market introduction.
Due to its involvement in the development of the new standard
TTCN-3, Testing Technologies IST can already now present first
products after an implementation phase of about 18 months:
- TTtwo2three supports the migration from TTCN-2 to TTCN-3;
- TTspec is the graphical development environment for test
cases; it allows a flexible customisation to user requirements
based
on the underlying XML technology;
- TTthree is a TTCN-3
to Java compiler, which supports the new TTCN-3 features
like test control, dynamic
test configurations
and enhanced communication mechanisms; by choosing
Java as target language for the compiler, test solutions
for a variety
of computer architectures are available.
”
The first that will use our products, will be test device manufacturers,
afterwards network equipment manufacturers will follow.” Dr.
Ina Schieferdecker, President of Testing Technologies recognices
markets for the products of her company mainly in Europe and
Asia. ”The markets of our customers are
global markets. Hence, we built currently local
distribution
channels in
various countries.”
With TTCN-3 as language and the products of Testing Technologies,
a universally applicable test method for different network
technologies is available – for 3GPP/UMTS, ATM, IP etc.
The platform-independent test tools of Testing Technologies
can be used as standard-products or as customized versions
to the user requirements. Testing Technologies IST GmbH offers
this and further services for systematic tests of complex systems
before their deployment in order to mini-mize the risk for
manufacturers, providers and customers as possible.
